Okay im trying to decide between university of toronto for computer science (they have a major for video game design) or guelp university for software engineering. I was trying to see what kind of programming jobs are available in guelph, i didnt see any game designer job offerings. Most of the game design jobs ive seen online are in quebec or some part of toronto, mississauga to be more specific. But the st. george campus for UofT is far from mississauga. Whats the better choice here? |

Do you plan on working during school terms, instead of co-op/PEY/taking-terms-off? |

So then the distance between campus and potential work-place doesn't really matter. The game industry is fairly competitive in a way that a lot of people want to work specifically on games rather than any other type of software project. Willing to relocate gives you a competitive advantage over other students that insist on staying only in their home city. There are game companies in Montreal and Vancouver. Blizzard Entertainment is, of course, headquartered in Irvine, California. UofToronto would typically be considered to be a better choice. |
