Anyone know what I can do? I have one of the newer models of the ps3 I have the 120gb slim and apparently I am the first to have that model type die! -_- (all the videos for dead ps3 have the older models) Anyways what happens is I turn my ps3 on, The light turns green for 2 seconds, then I get yellow light for half a second, its very fast, then it turns red and flashes until I press the button again where it then stays solid red. Very disapointed with ps3 since I thought this problem was fixed with the first generation of ps3... -_- I think if theres nothing I can do, Ill make a slow-mo video of myself chucking it at a brick wall... :S lol... |

Somewhere on the interwebz, no idea if true Quote: No, I've heard of the yellow light of death, when you get that you can reach your debug and do anything you have to (like format and transfer data). Blinking red light only happens to like 2% of PS3 owners or something and cannot be fixed any other way (if you can call it getting fixed, its most likely a replacement). Btw, a friend said they sent a replacement PS3 to play on during repairs, is this true? ...your best bet is to contact SONY customer support. |

My launch 60 GB died a year and a half ago. I managed to revive it by opening it and using a heat gun to reflow the solder on the motherboard. It worked long enough for me to backup my stuff. |
