Im in grade 12, and physics is my only gr12 science course. I'm considering dropping it since I'm kind of struggling and can't find the effort to work harder in this course. I was just wondering if I would regret dropping it? I'm going for computer science for post secondary, the only uni I know of that needs physics is Ryerson (1 science course). I just need some assurance. Also, would it look bad if I don't have any science courses in grade 12? |

I'm pretty sure it depends on your kind of programming. Not every kind requires physics knowledge; that's only really good for games and such. |

That's a tough question. While I don't _think_ most CS programs require it, I think they'd be hard pressed to accept someone without a single grade 12 science course. I would strongly suggest trying real hard to put a better effort in, or else take chemistry or biology in night/summer school. |

If it's not a required course, then I suppose that should not prevent you from getting accepted. But it does seem odd to me that you "don't have any science courses in grade 12" and yet plan on pursuing Computer Science. |

Computer Science isn't a real science, Tony.

It's all just N degrees of "application" away from Mathematics -- http://xkcd.com/435/ In grade 12 I took Physics, Chemistry, and Biology; and was under the impression that most CS students tend to do well in all of hard sciences. |
