You're not the only one: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuEyeCandy Check out the links at the bottom. Compiz is pretty funky: http://irrelevancy.net/images/desktop_cube.png unoho wrote: Also..is there any good chat app for ubuntu?
emesene has a more Microsoft-y look to it, if that's what you want. If you haven't already, check out the Ubuntu Software Center from the Applications menu. |

Completely personal old-guy opinion regarding Chat programs. I use IRC and the Opera browser has a built-in IRC client. For instant messaging (rare) it's Pidgin. Cheers |

btiffin, why don't you ever pop in #compsci.ca? Your elderly wisdom is best served in real time. |

If you want a dock that's more like the one in Windows 7 / OS X, try installing Docky. |

I personally prefer X-Chat for all my IRC needs. If you really want to customize things as a beginner, Ubuntu Tweak is where it's at. |

If you want a dock, a popular one is avant-window-navigator. For MSN, I found that emesene was the closest to the MSN for Windows. |

ya but i guess im too used to the actual msn..it makes everything else look bad, lol i did hear about the IRC chat thingy but i wanted something where i would have the drawing tool inside a chat window. that comes in pretty handy. and thanks for those dock names. gonna have to try it soon. |
