This is the latest version of a racing game I've been working on for a while. It is still a work in progress, and I would appreciate any ideas you have. Thanks to drij for his Car program, which this was built from. Drag mode doesn't work yet, that's why you can't select it. I can't seem to attach the file to this post, so download it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?rvl8wdwv62aqdi2 NOTE: I update the program every now and then. If the link doesn't work, wait a few minutes and try again. Features: - Detailed physics engine - 46 cars - Build your own car (2.5 trillion possible combinations) - 11 tracks - 3 game modes (circuit, drift, speed) To do list: - Sound - Better graphics (Working on this now) - Find a good way to add more cars (46 is the most I can fit on the screen) - Drag racing |

Almost finished drag racing, I'll post the update when it's done. Also, I've got a friend redoing the maps with better graphics. I'll add that as soon as I can. **Since I can't edit my first post anymore, I'll post the new link below. |

Just finished drag racing! Get the new version here: http://www.mediafire.com/?1d2l4m7evbi7xz9 Better graphics and more cars coming soon. EDIT: If you're having trouble figuring out drag racing: First, you do a burnout to heat up your tires. The top meter is your tachometer, with the temperature gauge below it and the grip meter below that. Press space to rev the engine. Try to keep the revs in the blue zone to build up grip. When time runs out, the actual race begins. Hold space to accelerate, and press the up arrow to shift gears. Try to shift when the revs are in the blue for quicker shifts. During both parts, revving into the red zone will heat up the engine. Filling the temperature gauge will blow the engine. |

I found a way to add more cars. I've upped the number of cars to 65, with room for 25 more. I'm adding the new cars now, I'll upload the new version when I'm done. |

Are you still working on this? If so, then its pretty good so far, but there doesn't seem to be much of a point yet, perhaps you could create some kind of system that creates target times based on your vehicles statistics? |

Hey! Someone finally replied! To answer your question, this isn't actually the full game. This is just a test of the driving engine and car builder. The finished game will have a full career mode inspired by Need for Speed ProStreet. Sadly, the full game will probably have to be done in a different programming language. I doubt Turing could handle it. I do still plan to update this version though. Your suggestion about generating target times interests me, and I still plan to fix the graphics when my friend finishes the artwork. |

I find this game to be quite enjoyable, although you should pick a more reliable friend to do your pixel art as the one you are using is obviously incapable of meeting a deadline. |
