Out of curiousity , I am curious about getting close estimate of how much a normal graduate makes from just graduating from school as well as the salary if a person has their masters degree. Does the salary of a fresh, brand new computer science student compare closely to a new engineer's?If someone could help me out tat'd be appreciated. |

So what's "normal"? Non-"top-school", no work experience, and performing in the middle of the graduating class? Ugghh... 40K, in Canada. Maybe. It's a pseudo-educated guess. Top of the class at UofT/UW, in USA, starts at about 80K (less taxes too!). So clearly there's quite a lot of variance in the figures. I don't think there's any difference in pay between CS/SE/CE if you end up in the same job (and a lot of graduates are). |

I know programmers at IBM start at about $62k/year. I'm not sure the school matters. |

I agree. Computer related jobs are highly paid nowadays because the trend in this field is fast accelerating. A lot of businesses nowadays are made up of programming, internet marketing, etc. which is related to computer field. |
