Jobmine Plus!

For University of Waterloo students, this userscript allows you to use Jobmine with ease and it looks much better than the original, with more features and a settings button!
First release is located in this url:http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/80771

This is a greasemonkey+jquery project where I have created a userscript to navigate Jobmine easier. You will need greasemonkey installed and so far I only support Firefox, sorry to the Chrome and Safari uses. Visit the link to see screen shots and you can post bugs or features in the discussion thread.

Features:
- New and better navigation! With a horizontal navigation bar on top of the page.
- Updated look, does not even look the same as the old Jobmine!
- Removed the annoying timer and avoids the php timer.
- You can finally remove multiple jobs off Job Short List!
- A white overlay that tells the user that Jobmine is thinking slowly... (can be removed).
- After login, you can specify which page it directs to, no more breadcrumbs!
- Settings button to remove/hide the features I added.
- Good looking tables (like Windows 7) and coloured rows and highlights the row your mouse is on.
- Allows you to refresh the page with a timer only occurs on idle.

I've heard about this from a few friends. It make jobmine much nicer to deal with. I don't know why UW is paying people soft. Imo they should just hire some coop student to make a better site Razz And while there at it, hire some coop students to make a better version of UW Ace, that also can get pretty annoying.

Very nice, I like how it highlights jobs I got an interview for. A lot easier to see than me going CTRL-F "scheduled" all the time

Jobmine V1.01

I have updated the script to allow you to use Chrome (with Blank Canvas), fixed a few errors and glitches.
Later on when you update with Chrome, you have to go to the Blank Canvas extension's options and remove the old script before adding the new one.

They've had the co-op students working for a while now. The jobmine replacement should launch ... sometime or other. It was already supposed to be live a year ago, but keeps getting postponed. Turns out "getting some coops to make a better site" isn't trivial.

UWACE will be replaced sometime soon too. I don't know by what, yet. Not something written by coops though.

Bump!

Well I updated Jobmine Plus (link above) since it was old. I have added an About page and I have changed the userscript to a Chrome Extension!! No need of Blank Canvas if you have it, please uninstall it or disable and install Jobmine Plus as an extension. Firefox still needs Greasemonkey. I plan to update this (since this is my school term) and I will be adding more features soon.

Do you have a feature for updating your resume for multiple job apps at once? That would really come in handy, even tho 1st and 2nd round are done already..

I've worked on the Jobmine replacement, called Joberloo (hopefully they changed the name). The problem is that no one has a clear set of specifications and CECS keep changing what they want, and the project has been completely scraped a couple of times already. I wouldn't hold my breath for a Jobmine replacement anytime soon.

i like wht they have in jobmine right now..but it's EXTREMELY slow..and implementing jobmine plus into the original jobmine would be much better...that way we don't have to install additional extensions. it would be all in one package.

Jobmine V1.08

It has been awhile since I have updated this thread. Here are the changes from v1.07

- New design for job descriptions and you can print the page as well.
- Firefox can now save password and username but Chrome can only save username.
- Date sorting is fixed now; you can now have accurate date sorting in all tables.
- Job search will keep track of all the jobs you have looked at already.
- All job descriptions (except some...) automatically load in new tab really quickly.
- Able to remove highlighting for a page of tables (it is a button).
- Fixed minor urls for Google search.
