It was also probably complete lies and trickery. Assuming that page was served by a webserver somewhere, the latency was (minimum) 40ms round-trip. Figure a minimum of 2 cycles of round-trip (1 for the initial page, 1 for CSS/JS/images) and almost certainly more, and the page would take about 100ms to render, far more than the potato gun should have, for example. That's best-case. These webpages were almost certainly served from local cache, in my opinion, which is going to be fast no matter your browser. |

I think the entire point is that their rendering engine is fast. I don't recall hearing them claim that they were serving these pages off some remote server. |

This is definitely what they're going for, which is silly, because it's an open source rendering engine that's also used by Konqueror and Safari (to name the most popular).
But anyway, I'll still be using IE since in an independent study financed by Micro$oft, IE was found to have the fastest rendering engine. |

Scroll down to the second post Also I been using Chrome and i find it kinda slow then I remembered that there is a restriction with number of connections to a server and this is why download managers work by using more than that number of connections. I increased the number of pipelines as they are called in Firefox. Is there an equivalent setting in Chrome and how do I get to it? |
