I recently downgraded my Windows 7 computer to Windows XP (for my dad) but have faced many problems. First of all, I had 4 partitions on Windows 7: two physical harddrives: HDD 1 = 1 partition (Operating System) HDD 2 = 3 partitions I formatted and installed XP on HDD 1 but now my computer won't recognize the other 3 partitions. ![]() It only shows me C and D and when I click on D, it says to format it before using. ![]() I really need the data on those three partitions, so...any suggestions? Thanks |

At first I thought that win 7 was NTFS and Xp wasn't but then I remembered there wasn't two versions so it must have been NTFS. This might help you |

I have 2 hard drives on my computer, a 2 Gig, that has Windows installed on it (C ![]() ![]() Anyway, one day I booted up the computer and Windows wouldn't recognize the D: drive. The BIOS read it fine. I concluded that my hard drive crashed. Is there any way I can recover the data? I have tried to access the D: drive in DOS, but It doesn't want to read it for some unknown reason. Please help me out from this problem.... ![]() LOL, she probably is. But anyway, you could try re-installing your operating system (it could be an OS problem like the one I had) or you could check your hardware to see if the drive is properly plugged in (although this shouldn't be the problem). |
