having a problem with my computer

Post subject:  having a problem with my computer

so im trying to play on a private server for wow craft and when ever i try to run the wow.exe i get this error message ~windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. you may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item~ the wow server im playing on is wow-pwnage so if you know it maybe you can help im running xp media 32 bit im going to be upgrading to xp pro 64 bit soon but still if anyone can help that would be great

p.s. i know this is abit veague and some of you might not know all the workings of there server but if you have any questions ill try to answer them the best i can thanks

You're not getting help if you're breaking the game's TOS. Buy the game and play it legally or don't play it at all.

I've never played WoW so I don't know how to fix your problem, but you said you're upgrading from XP MCE 32-bit to XP Pro 64-bit. Why? Just make the jump to Windows 7 64-bit.

Thats exactly your problem. You are most likely on a non administrator account and your WoW is in a location within the computer that is only accesible by an admin. I'm 100% positive thats what wrong or at least some variation of it. For example of a variation of it, if you were running Vista, you would right click and hit "Run as Administrator". That is if you were on an Admin account and were getting that error.

well im pritty sure its an admin account its the only one on my computer

Do you get the same error with the default realmlist? Or just this server?

if it worked before try sys restore... to the last time it worked. If not play legit.
