I've been searching for a good solution and I've found quite a decent one: www.assembla.com

Features:
  • 200MB freespace per "space" for opensource projects
  • Git, SVN, Mercurial version control repositories
  • GitHub integration
  • Friendly easy to use interface
  • Wiki, Ticket Management and a lot more
  • Add/remove features as you wish

If you're looking for free private project support try: www.kenai.com
Kenai has no limit on the size of the repository. However you create only upto 5 projects. (If I'm not mistaken, you could request for more.)
For additional information: http://kenai.com/projects/help/pages/KenaiOverview

I just use Github. Great site, lots of popular projects use it.

Assembla can integrate with GitHub. Essentially you can use all of assembla's tools with GitHub as your repository.

Looks mediocre AND expensive. I'm fine with GitHub and Light House. I use Invoice Machine for simple time-tracking and invoicing. If you need a more serious CRM/support tool there's Tender App or Get Satisfaction.

They support opensource projects for free. Their ticketing system is comparible to that of Lighthouse.

If you want to host your own programming project mangment system you might want to check out http://basieproject.org/

It's still in it's early stages of development (beta) but it's open source and python (with django) based.
