Post subject:  What is % average and how to interpret GPA

Hi, All
I have a question: what is this "admission average 92%" for example ... is it like GPA or is it position in class?

Thanks

no. it's your mark. For example, if you got a 90 in math, 90 in physics, 90 in Chem, and a 90 in DEnglish, you average would be 90. Your GPA is a very different measure. Just look at your report card to calculate it.

I am doing masters at NY university. And want to go for Phd to Canada ...

So in my transcript I have only GPA.

maximum possible is 4.0. I have 3.85 ...
grade scale is: A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+ ... etc
strait B is GPA 3.0

Could you possibly drop a hint how do I convert

3.85 is either B+ or A-, is that what you mean?

It is average:
Fall semester I had A, A, A- : GPA was 3.9

Spring semester I had A, A-, A- : GPA was 3.8

And for whole year it is 3.85
