I posted this in another topic about shoes, but didn't get a response (I'm guessing no one noticed since it was edited in later)

I'm having trouble installing it:

Try searching for libopenssl.

EDIT: It might just be openssl.

Nothing for that either. Any idea why it needs it? Is it to get images from https or something?

No, I have no idea why it needs it. I haven't used Shoes much to be honest.

What distro are you using? Did you successfully install openssl?

There is also a Ruby interface to openssl called libopenssl-ruby. You could try installing that.

Other than installing openssl and possibly libopenssl-ruby, there's not much more I can think of.

I'm on Fedora Core Ten. I must have made a typo because I just yum searched openssl, and it brought up a bunch of stuff, including openssl.i386, apparently I already have this though, so it's back to the original problem anyway.

I can't find a Fedora binary anywhere, but I came across this forum post: http://www.ruby-forum.com/topic/168851
Try "locate openssl.so" and see if it exists in a ruby-related place.

[jeff@localhost ~]$ locate openssl.so
/usr/lib/libgnutls-openssl.so.26
/usr/lib/libgnutls-openssl.so.26.4.6
/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/i386-linux/openssl.so
So it looks like I already have openssl library for Ruby

Oh, it's a simple ubuntu command:

install shoes

It basically does this:

Load two shoes in hands.
If shoes are tied. Untie them.

Put Right foot in right shoe.
Take laces in hand.
Tie Granny knot.
Make bow with each.
Wrap one lace round other.

Does same for left shoe.

Though sometimes it throws this error for me:
"Error tying laces, go talk to your mom."

...And yes I actually thought you needed help putting on your shoes. [Delete if you must.]
