heres the situation
my ex girlfriend wants to get back together with me what should i do?
we dated at the start of the school year!

There is way too little information to make a case either way with any degree of confidence. Whatever caused the breakup is worth examining to see what would prevent that from happening again, e.g. x dumps y because of z and while z may be rare it does come every so often.

Post subject:  RE:Girl trouble

some one told her i was cheating on her and she didn't believe me so she dumped me!

Author:  jbking [ Mon Jun 08, 2009 7:48 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Girl trouble

So, what is supposed to prevent that from happening again? If nothing, then I'd suggest not getting back together. If there are changes to fix this, then maybe it is worth taking her back as she has changed her mind. I'm just thinking you should look twice before you leap again.

Adding/removing someone on Facebook is supposed to be an important indicator of relationship status? (Alternatively, people consider Facebook so important that the decision to add/remove someone reflects their feelings about that person?) sigh... this makes me want to cry Crying or Very sad

T.O, he was being sarcastic. If you'll note, his title says 'classhole'.

I'd just like to add this, for everyone: what a girl does sexually has no bearing on whether or not she is a "good" girl. I fail to see how abstaining from sex is the only moral standard we judge women by, rather than their personality, how they treat people and friends, and their ethics. If you refuse to face up to this, you're helping keep women in their traditional gender roles.

Post subject:  Re: Girl trouble

Here's my honest opinion.
From the fact that she removed you from her friends on Facebook, I'd have to conclude that either you were never friends before your relationship, or that your friendship didn't survive the breakup, and you probably didn't really care enough to want her back as a friend (Really I hate to use Facebook in this manner but my information is limited here.) That being said, it doesn't really seem to matter what you do. If you think you'll enjoy your time with her (while it lasts, presumably) then that's OK; if you think you're better off with someone else that's fine too. Providing that dating is an activity intended primarily to be fun, obsessing over decisions is sometimes unhealthy.

i do care about her as a friend

Author:  md [ Tue Jun 09, 2009 6:13 pm ]
Post subject:  RE:Girl trouble

She dumped you over a rumour, and then broke all contact.

Either you did cheat on her (in which case your a douch); or she has serious trust issues. Either way it will likely go south again and only cause you more trouble. If you want to be her friend, sure; but anything more and your asking for trouble.

(Classhole away!)

Post subject:  Re: Girl trouble

Here's some honest questions for you:
Are you doing this because your lonely?
Is she doing it because she's lonely?
Do you value her as a person?
Does she value you as a person?

If you answered yes or maybe to the first two questions, my advice is don't do it. If you answered yes to both of the second two questions, then you're lying to yourself, as someone that valued you as a person wouldn't have dumped you over a rumor and given you the cold shoulder, without giving you a chance(I'm assuming here the rumor was false, as they usually are).

You have a past history with negative results with her; what is to keep her from doing something similar again? I'm not saying don't do it, just consider all the facts, and don't think with your penis. Trust me, I've done that. The results aren't fun. Like getting dumped the day after Valentines Day not fun.

Generally, when people go with "instinct" or their "hearts", they are letting passion motivate their decisions. Trust me on this: passion makes stupid, stupid decisions.

Seriously, don't you think he's capable of more than that? People do grow and change. Too many people have a lot of negativity about relationships on here, and assume that their views are The Correct View of Relationships, despite the fact they've done no studying of human relationships, and think they have a pattern. This is especially prevalent among programmers that think people are reducable to rules and patterns. They aren't.

Yes, it's sad but true in today's society. Persoanlly I don't even use Facebook, but I hear people talking...

Person 1: Hey did you hear Joe and Sara broke up last night?
Person 2: No! I haven't talked to him.
Person 1: Neither have I, but his Facebook status changed last night from "In a Relationship" to "Single"

It's sad, to me, that the first thing people do when they break up with someone/are dumped is change their Facebook status so everyone knows.

I'm 100% against Facebook for many reasons, this included.

Anyway, in response to the topic...I don't have a LOT of experience, but..
If she didn't trust you enough to believe that you wouldn't cheat on her in the first place (unless you did, in which case I have no sympathy for you at all) then she didn't trust you enough to be in a lasting relationship. That being said, it could also depend how well you knew her. Maybe the trust hadn't developed yet.

Talk to her about it, see what it is. But be careful before jumping into things. Online forums are probably not the BEST place for advice, but hey whatever suits you.

For all the people that say facebook is bad because of this and that I believe that facebook its a great networking tool, and a great way to keep up in touch with friends and relatives.

To the OP: dont take her too seriously, have fun with her but be open to other girls too. Girls like it when guys are like that and even if they get mad at you because of it they always end up coming back. So chillax(chill + relax) and just have a good time at school.

and to the one that says we kno nothing about girls: They are easier to figure out than you think.
