He downloaded a darwine and mac os x version that came out may 8 th 209 and it said copy the darwin folder into the apps folder but how do you run the programs I asked if he had a terminal and he said he didn't think so How do you open the terminal and run a windows file or install a game (runes of magic) |

Oh, you mean eMacs as in "educational Macs", not Emacs as in "nice operating system, shame about the editor". Good. We have laws against child abuse in this country. |

I use CrossOver, which is essentially a commercial flavour of Darwine. If it's any similar, then just open Darwine from the Applications folder, and then use File -> Open to navigate to a Windows app to run. |

Download Darwine. Once you install it, just double click an exe file and it will open it. Note: It's no where near as good as Wine in Linux because it's a few versions behind Wine. Also, if you're willing to pay money, I think Crossover would be better. Download the PPC version if he's using an older PPC-based Mac or the x86 version if he has an Intel processor. If you're not sure, download the universal binary, it contains both binaries in it. |

If your friend is still interested, to install: 1. Mount the DMG file by double-clicking it. 2. Open the Darwine mpkg file and follow the instructions. |
