It won't work for me for some reason ![]() Basically when I install and everything and start the browser it starts normally. Then after a few seconds it goes unresponsive and I have to end the process from task manager. Sometimes it might unfreeze after like 30 seconds but then it'll just refreezes very quickly. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and no luck. I guess I have to settle for FF2 until I fix this problem. |

It works wonderfully for me. And with the new speed improvements, it might be once again considered for the spot of the primary browser. |

Funny story about Linux at my school. Our school was using XP and we as a class talked our teachers into letting us dual boot a Linux flavour on to our machines. We chose whatever flavour we wanted so it was pretty awesome! |

tenniscrazy, click that star again and you'll get the edit bookmark window. You can add tags here by separating with comments. By far the best way to organize bookmarks. |

I am running SP2 on my 5 year old custom built. The specs are more than enough so I can't understand what's going on. When I check task manager the CPU usage is perfectly fine and everything seems to be okay. I can minimize the frozen firefox and do other things but it just freezes up for me. I'm going to try doing a full uninstall with cleaning my registry of all things firefox and then reinstalling FF3. |

Do try that. Also delete the Mozilla directory from Documents and Settings/<user>/application data, and local settings/application data (may be application settings directory). Also check the "All Users" and "Default" directories. Incompatible extensions might be the cause? I'd blame it on windows, though. |

I'll try that in a few hours I guess. Thanks for the input. |

Yea so same problem. I removed reg files using regcleaner, I removed all folders in the documents related to firefox like you said and still. However, I did notice that upon starting up Firefox, it tells me that the following addons were disabled due to incompatibility and it lists yahoo toolbar and linkification. That was odd sice I removed all folders that belonged to mozilla and the registry so technically it shouldn't have been able to find my old addons. So I'm thinking doing an uninstall of those addons through firefox itself might be the solution. If that doesn't work...then I don't know. |

Alright so I noticed that FF3 doesn't freeze at all when I'm in about:config or options or user preferences or anything. The only time it freezes is when I try and click the actual web page of browser or type in a URL or click a link. |

You guys have almost persuaded me to download this thing...I do like opera though, I use it exclusively now. I can't change it to my default though (Because it's a family computer and my parents'd get pissed) so I have to copy & paste links ![]() Firefox sounds good though, I'll download it. EDIT: Running Firefox now, And I just found out now, it spell checks for you! Just need to have a look at all these features... |

Yes, well, I always use my Dad's profile...everyone does...It used to be the only admin until I got tech-wise, so I use it by habit. According to my parents, I shouldn't have downloaded this...or any of the other things I downloaded today. They don't trust ANYTHING on the internet (The reason I'm not allowed my own computer is that they're worried I might get into porn...). If they new I downloaded the files I uploaded onto this site with relative frequency, they would be rather a bit...angry... I just noticed, firefox doesn't seem to have 'tabs', unless I'm missing something. |

File --> New Tab, or Ctrl + T. You can also open links in new tabs by clicking the mouse wheel (or the middle mouse button, if you have one). |

![]() Firefox sounds good though, I'll download it. EDIT: Running Firefox now, And I just found out now, it spell checks for you! Just need to have a look at all these features... At the last OCLUG meeting (my first) an Opera demo was put on by one of the gents involved in Opera I18n and L10n. He liked FF3 (the release candidates at the time) too. ![]() Too bad about the whole Debian "unbrand" Iceweasel, thingy. Mozilla packages are always just that little bit left behind for Debian main; so normal people (if there are normal GNU/Linux users, in relation to the whole PC normal thing) might not see IW3 for a while yet. Cheers |

My Firefox is called "Minefield" and is unbranded on Arch. And the final release of FF3 isn't in the repo yet =/. I'm running it from unstable repository. BTW, insectoid, you need to buy yourself a laptop, or move out (assuming your going post-secondary next year?). Either that or convince your parents that you can handle yourself (you're what, 17?). You can't be a computer geek (especially if you're going into CS as a career!) and be restricted! |

Get a PSP and BAMN internets (if you have wireless). You can browse with a wii, too. (And even a DS!). Of course, you can't put firefox on it (unless you hax it, perhaps), so it's kind of getting off topic ![]() |
