3 men walk into a hotel for the night, They each pay 10 dollars for a room. The 3 men go upstairs and relax in their room. The manager over charged by 5 dollars, So he goes to return the 5 dollars to the 3 guys. Noticing he cannot divide 5 by 3 evenly, He gives EACH man 1 dollar, and keeps 2 dollars. So if each man paid 9 dollars for the room, since they had paid 10 and got 1 back, and the manager kept 2, where did the other dollar go? 9 * 3 = 27 + 2 = 29 not 30. I'll give you the answer in a week if no one gets it, but since everyone here is so smart, i shouldn't have to Good Luck! |

spoiler: Well, overall their rooms were suppose to cost $25, and they got $3 dollars return, and $2 dollars pocketed, thus making $30. Because they do not pay their refund, they pay what the manager+hotel has which is 27 overall (30-3), and they have the 3 dollars in their pockets. Thus it is suppose to be 9*3=27+3=30, cause what they paid includes what the manager has in pocket Very Easy |

Spoiler there is an easier way to look at it heres the math way they each were supposed to pay for the night 25/3 (they were charged 5 dollars more for 30) per person, now if they are each refunded one dollars 25/3 + 1/1 = 25/3 + 3/3 = 28/3 now there are 3 people so we have (28/3)*3 + 2 that the manager kept which is 28 + 2 = 30 |
