Inspired by a previous thread I am too lazy to link to, I'm curious as to what resolutions people run at, as well as how many monitors they use and what kind they are. I think I'll also throw in some other computer options like age, storage space, speed... curiosity was always my downfall /me notes that you can't have multiple poll questions; doesn't that suck! I guess I'll just leave it up to people to fill the form out themselves How many monitors do you have? What kind are they (LCD, CRT, Projector)? Two, both LCD. How big are they? 20' wide screen and 19' normal What resolutions do you run? 1400x1050 and 1280x1024. Both run a unified desktop How many computers do you have? 4, only three of which get any use. Server, Workstation/storage server, and a laptop. How old is/are your computer(s)? Server: 7, workstation: 5, laptop: I've had it for one, but it's 3 or 4 years old. How much storage do you have in each computer? How much do you actually use? Server: 40gB total, maybe 10gB used Workstation: 120gB for the system and programs, of which 58gB is dedicated to this install, 3.5gB used. 1.4TB for /home, of which 973gB is used. Laptop: 80gB total, maybe half that used. How fast is/are your computer(s)? Server: 1.5gHz P4 w/o HT Workstation: 2.8gHz P4 w/ HT Laptop: 1.5gHz PM w/o HT How much memory do(es) your computer(s) have? Server: 512mB Workstation: 1280mB Laptop: 1024mB Which computer do you use most if you have more then one? Split between the laptop and my workstation, but I probably spend more on the workstation. What OS(s) do you use? Linux on everything, currently Ubuntu on the laptop/workstation and Gentoo on the server.

Workstation: Less then 1 year. Server 1: 4-5 years Server 2: old, dunno how old I found it on the side of the road. How much storage do you have in each computer? How much do you actually use? Server: 40gB total, dunno, machine hasn't been on in a while Workstation: 720gB total [1 x 80gB, 2 x 320gB] 2 x 320gB used for storing data (movies, music, etc...), data is split between drives. 320(1)[Music, Movies,Stored downloads] has 85.1GB free, 320(2)[TV, Anime, Temp Downloads] has 105gB free. 80gB has system installs (Linux, Windows), and programs, which has enough free, don't want to figure it all out. How fast is/are your computer(s)? Server 1: 2.4gHz P4 w/o HT Server 2: 400Mhz PPC Workstation: 2.9gHz Pentium D (Dual Core) How much memory do(es) your computer(s) have? Server 1: 768mB Server 2: 0 (I think it needs some ) Workstation: 2024mB Which computer do you use most if you have more then one? Workstation What OS(s) do you use? Windows XP and ArchLinux. Primarly in Windows so I can play games.

What resolutions do you run? Never really use the first, but 1440x900 for the second. How many computers do you have? Two which I use. How old is/are your computer(s)? Almost 1 year and just over one year. How much storage do you have in each computer? How much do you actually use? Laptop has 80 GB (almost all used), desktop has 820 GB (few hundred GB are actually used). How fast is/are your computer(s)? Laptop is a 2 GHz C2D, desktop is a 1.83 GHz C2D. How much memory do(es) your computer(s) have? 1 GB and 2 GB. Which computer do you use most if you have more then one? Laptop. What OS(s) do you use? Windows XP on everything. Sometimes Ubuntu on the laptop.

What kind are they (LCD, CRT, Projector)?3 CRTs, 2 LCDs How big are they? 2 of the CRTs are 15", the other is 20", the two LCDs are 19" What resolutions do you run? the small CRTs were 800x600, the 20" and the LCDs all run 1024 x 768 How many computers do you have? 6, 4 of which are running/in use How old is/are your computer(s)? 1 is almost 15 years old, another 10, the third we don't know, and the two workstations are 3, and my laptop is just over 1. How much storage do you have in each computer? How much do you actually use? both desktops have 200GB, of which 150GB is used in the one, and 190 is used in the other. My laptop has 120GB harddrive, which is split into three partitions, 2 for windows and Ubuntu install, each 10 GB, with the last 100GB being used as the storage partition. How fast is/are your computer(s)? Laptop 1.6GHz C2D, Desktops P4 @ 4.0GHz, and AMD Athalon, the other three are varied P1s and P2s How much memory do(es) your computer(s) have? Desktop 1: 512MB, Desktop 2: 1 GB, Laptop 1GB, Others: Combined total of 64MB Which computer do you use most if you have more then one? Laptop. What OS(s) do you use? Windows XP on everything, with Ubuntu on the laptop.

One soon to be server, one soon to be desktop, one soon to be replaced laptop. How old is/are your computer(s)? By date of purchase, just about 3 years. By performace, about 4 or 5. For the newish one, about a year and a half. How much storage do you have in each computer? How much do you actually use? 160GB, but partitioned badly. I have about 20GB of usable space altogether. How fast is/are your computer(s)? Approximately not very. How much memory do(es) your computer(s) have? 512MB Which computer do you use most if you have more then one? Desktop. The laptop is ass for everything other than playing around. What OS(s) do you use? Windows XP Professional on the desktop, Ubuntu Linux on the laptop. Anything else is cause for hair pulling and spontaneous combustion.

What kind are they (LCD, CRT, Projector)? 7, LCD, LCD, LCD, LCD, CRT, TV converted to montor, TV converted to montor How big are they? 23' wide screen, 19' wide screen, 15' wide screen, 12.1', 20', 15', 32' (in same order as types above) What resolutions do you run? 1680x1050, 1920x1200 (i run 2 diffrent x instances on both from the same computer on thess two), 1680x1050, 1280x800, 1280x800, 600x400, 600x400 (media center) How many computers do you have? 6 here in thunder bay, 4 laptops, 1 media center and one crapy server. How old is/are your computer(s)? Eurocom laptop is 4 months old but was upgrade today in ram, alineware laptop is almost 5 years, dell laptop is almost 8 years, hp tablet is 5 months, crapy server is unknow (parts where taken from many diffrent free socres), media center is about 1 year old. How much storage do you have in each computer? How much do you actually use? Media Center has 1TB in total and amount used changes rapidely Eurocom laptop has 120GB Alineware laptop has 80GB HP tablet has around 180GB Del laptop has about 10GB Crapy Server has about 10GB Not going to go threw each and find out how much is left :p How fast is/are your computer(s)? Eurocom and the media center, all my t.v. goes threw the media center so i guse i use it when ever i watch t.v. All the others are allways on at least doing wcg, other then the crapy server witch i use as a foot rest HP table is admazing for taking notes Alineware is falling aprt and the screen goes on and off so it is also hooked up to a t.v Dell had it's screen fall off (not counted above) and uses a CTR now They are all used during dwite for montoring servers, coumnications and runing the judge What OS(s) do you use? Eurocom has duel booting gentoo linux and vista Alineware has duel booting gentoo linux and xp Dell has xp HP tablet has vista media center has xp media center (this is aucatly a realy good OS for media centers but nothing eltes) Creapy Server has win 98 I also have a tone of computer parts in storage in thunder bay and waterloo that whould be enought to make 3 or 4 other crapy computers however i don't plan on using them any time soon. I also have control of the compsci.ca deciated server and the shared back up one and accoutns on some of the lakehead "supper" computers. I also have a hacked router that runs a linux like OS and a wii witch can brows the web. There are also my roomates computers on my network witch is made up of both wifi and cat5 cable witch i got installed in some rooms this summer.

Desktop: an 80Gig HDD with about 40 gigs free, and a 250Gig drive partitioned with Windows and a 150Gig storage partition. im not sure how much is used. macbook:149.05 GB recently replaced, so only 14.93 Gigs used at the moment How fast is/are your computer(s)? Desktop: Athlon 64 3000+ 2.0 GHz macbook: 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo How much memory do(es) your computer(s) have? How much do you actually use? 200GB internal, 250GB external (187GiB, 232GiB I think) Windows is using about 60GiB, Ubuntu and Debian combined are using about 10GiB. My external drive uses about 200GiB. It has all of my media, games, cd images, lists of software and their installers, schoolwork and some backups. How fast is/are your computer(s)? AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (2.2GHz) How much memory do(es) your computer(s) have? 1.00GB (I think it is actually 1.00GiB because Windows has always displayed the wrong units).
