Ok I know this is a really basic noobish question but for some bizzare reason i'm having issues with this so i'm turning to you people. I assuming this is the proper place to put this...and regardless i'm sure the people who check this can help me. Now, I go to java.sun.com and go to install JDK 6, accept and go to download it. however when I do so it asks me where I want everything to be placed and I don't know where it's expected to go. :S not sure if I just put it with my IDE, or in system or if it's in some premade folder or a folder i've made myself. It's quite frustrating because I never get the same answer twice O_o; |

Let it put it where it wants to. Helps people find it faster if you ever want people to help you on your computer. Your IDE is more likely to find it if it is installed in the default location. Failing that, you can always tell your IDE where it is. |

erm thanks for the help...though now my issue apparently is that the jdk isn't installed. O_o; I took from the site JDK 6 update 2 because that was what i was told to take ~_~ however now I only have the JRE...which isn't very helpful  considering i need the JDK. -sigh- they should make it so much simpler xP pretty sad I find coding easier then simply installing something >.<; |

if I were you I would keep it simple and place in it my program files create a new folder called java with ur IDK and IDE and most pll dont know that they already have a folder called java in their program files from games and what not so simple store it there |
