Let's tackle this rather more head-on. Consider this an open challenge to the compsci.ca community to pick the language (or languages) of their choice and write the first chapter of an introductory programming text that deals with actual code (as opposed to pure "what is a computer?" type theory). Either on your own, or in teams, submissions are preferred in PDF form, and at least five pages in length. Graphics and diagrams are fine, but should not comprise anymore than half of any given page. For generating PDFs, I suggest using OpenOffice. |
