naw... if you actually listen to it and not just hear it being played in the background you would know that there's far more to it (well the good stuff... not this numetal limp bizkit crap) than just shouting and noise... plus the thing about pop and techno and stuff is that they really have no real talents... I mean I could make techno on my computer if I wanted to... and those pop people they just sing in a studio where they get as many chances as they want to make it sound good... then when it comes time to do a concert they lip sync the whole thing.... you'll never see a metal band lip sync... and those pop stars are wussies too... I mean what's the longest you've seen a pop band stay really popular? a few years? well Ozzy Osbourne he's been around as a metal vocalist for more than 30 years I could go into what I think of rap... but I won't |

hey, rap takes talent as well, it's hard trying to rhyme and also makes it sound good at the same time. I mean, it's not everyday person could just rap about something, by rapping, it does not mean those mainstream rap, listen to the underground rap battles, that's some skills. |

(btw not all rap stars write their own lyrics)...
the only rapper i got nothing against is eminem since he created his own style,the music aint that crappy and he writes his own lyrics... |

yeah, i have to agree with homer, alot of the rappers(isn't rappist the correct term? grammar wise?) don't write their lyrics, they have some other people do it, Ja Rule, for example, have other people write his lyrics, and then sings it in that voice of his(sounds like he has a pipe down his throat). Eminem and Dre and Snoop are people who actually write their own stuff. They are good artists, with actual skills. Im sure you guys also know a couple of metal groups are like that too? like people who don't come up with their own stuff? |

i still wouldnt classify rap as 'music' cuz its not....its takling with music playin in the background. and tru, pop takes no singin skillz, nor duz techno....the only real good actual singers are like the classics.... |

I will give rappers (rappists for Asiansensation) credit for being able to rhyme as good as they do. and it is true that some metal bands don't write their own stuff... like I know that Ozzy didn't write a lot of the stuff on Down to Earth and hated recording it, but from what I hear his next album will be his own stuff. lol have you ever heard Philip Anselmo (Pantera/Down/Superjoint Ritual vocalist) actually sing? because he can... really really good too... couple examples would be some of Pantera's lighter songs ... Cemetery Gates, Suicide Note Pt. I, Hollow, This Love and like stuff from Power Metal hehe and then like most Down songs... |

it's funny, cuz he is still releasing songs, tupac is suppose to be sleeping with the fishies, but they still have some guy rapping as tupac. I remember a conversation I had with my friend, and we were talking about how is Tupac spelt, and apparently, my friend thought it was Tupak, so we made him believe that Tupak was an actual rapper, and that he is rapping for Tupac. |

Yey time to bash a music genre! But instead of me ranting about how much Rap/Hip Hop (a lot of music that gets categorized as rap is actually hip hop) is half-assed, I intend to prove it with the Asok's Crap Rap Challenge! Here's the challenge, using DMX songs, find a word in the SONG (not intro/outro bullshit it needs to be sung) that is at least 3 syllables. Sounds like a really easy challenge eh? Rap couldn't possibly be so half-assed that there isn't a single 3 syllable word on 4 albums right? We'll see. I'm going to say this now because I got this a lot last time I held the exact same contest (no winner), "mother fucker" is 2 WORDS. idiots. (btw I haven't actually checked myself beyond the singles so it's fair game) First person to post the word and the song gets 10 bits once I verify it. And it actually has to be a WORD! AMMENDMENT: It also needs to be grammatically correct. Good Luck |
