W.T...FF!!! Can't do any commands from command prompt :@

Post subject:  W.T...FF!!! Can't do any commands from command prompt :@
Sooooooo. I go to run... type in 'command' (if i type in 'cmd' it says it is being used by another program!?) and then the ms-dos screen pops up. I can't do any commands though, netstat or ipconfig or ping or tracert or even friggin dir!!!!!!!! Evil or Very Mad Soommethin is messed up. Also, sometimes I can't open my task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete or Ctrl+Shift+Esc), even if i run 'taskmgr.exe'. Just randomly, some days i can, some days I can. So i downloaded this other task manager and i looked through running processes and all that crap and i can't find cmd or taskmgr... so i duno what it is Sad

update your malware detection tools, do a complete system check, then format and install Linux

I'd like to keep only one os and i intend to keep it XP Razz . Any other suggestions? It's not malware, I scanned and re-scanned with 50 diff scanners, they show nothing. My comp is running fine.... except for that, but it's pissin me off

I think formating your computer whould not be a bad idea. I whould back up my files, format and reinstall what ever OS you like. Tho tonys point partly that linux can not get virues or malware (we at least there are none for it, anythig is posiable).

boot into safemode with networking, and see if you can do anything there. if not boot into safemode with command prompt

That's not entirely true dan; there are exploits for linux, but they are few and far between. They are also easy to protect yourself against if you want to secure your system.

I also recommend a re-install of your OS of choice, though I do recommend a *nix distro over windows.

Lol, i knew some one was going to say somthing like that, witch is why i made the ()ed coment, i gused i should have side no modern ones that poses much of a threat unless you abouse your root acount or do dumb things...

Also i whould recomend trying to get in to msconfig and turing off all the things that start up with windows and turing off all the non microsoft services.
