Of all C&C games, why would you play Renegade?

its a good FPS game, and Red Alert 2 doesnt install on one of my comps, and doesn't work right on WinXP on my other comp, and I lost the CDs for red alert, and the original, well, sucks now, so renegade is all I can play untill I get generals Sad

Why is this a poll? There have been way too many poles of late...

I remember C&C (vaugely) tiberian Sun, never played it online though. It was fun, although it didn't beat StarCraft (not much does)

Stupid poll...

I played Red Alert, Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 2 also not online. Fun games, next to only StarCraft in the RTS genre.

Um, as far as first person shooters go these days its...showing its age.

But I was getting at that fact that it is a completely different genre than all of the rest of them; and really shouldn't be included in the same category just because its C&C.

Funny enough Red Alert 2 has worked for me in Winders XP with absolutely no problems.

My uncle is pretty good at Red Alert 2. He says he beet all of his Asian (no offesnse to Asian people) students in his tech class. So, my brother, my cousin and I are challenging him. I've just recently reinstalled the game to brush up on my skills for the big match.

That brings up another question. We should have a Red Alert 2/Yuri's Revenge competition on compsci.ca. How many people think this would be a good idea?

I don't know. I've completely lost the installs, CDs, and everything for all my Red Alert games, so count me out. Sad

It all depends on who's willing, and even then it might not work out (CompSci.ca StarCraft clan anyone?)

Red Alert 2/Yuri's revenge are my favorite strategy games, but I haven't played it in years.

C&C Generals is pretty good too. The graphics are awesome. I beat the first campaign before I got bored of it.

I've played Red Alert 2 and Yuri's revenge
I felt though that they were fun but not nearly as complex as some of the other one's out there simply because they try to simulate realistic modern warfare.

Wait... so it's NOT complex because it DOES try and simulate realistic combat?

RA2 isn't that realistic... all sorts of weird weapons and mind control.
Generals, on the other hand, is the most realistic rts I've played.

I've been a long-time fan of C&C, i've played every single game they made (hell, i was brought up on the first C&C) so natrually, when they came out with C&C: The first decade, i bought it within seconds. The series has been going pretty good for the past 10 years, nice little changes in the worlds of tiberium, red alert and generals (diff resources and overall worlds)
Damn, C&C owns Very Happy

Then you must really be looking forward to C&C3: Tiberium Wars. Some of the screens I've seen for it are just insane!

From my favorite series too; tiberium sun (+ firestorm), renegade, Origonal(covert ops, ect..)

Although im really worried that the building and such is going to tern generals style. i like how you can just build it in the HUD and place it instantly within a given radius... makes it harder to get surrounded by towers and the likes; forces people to use their troops.
