Hello every body! * FOR MODEL PACK SCROLL DOWN * I'd like to take this opportunity to say HELLO to every one in here and im glad to be part of this BBS! (forum -_-) & (I am new ) So anyhow yes yes hello NOW TO THE GAME!!!! My game is a pretty short game involving pictures for graphics and some things I came up with to cover up errors I couldn't/ didn't have time to fix. The game is based on the all mighty Space Invaders game. My game has only one level so far and the aliens do not shoot back. But you can shoot them (isnt it what we all want eh? ^.^ ) Some one brought up a nice point that I reallized only AFTER I finished the whole thing... Yes I am using processes and I read about the sin of processes. And I tried to cover it up by saying that the aliens detect the bullets or "rockets" (or w'e you like to think of it ) and try to evade it... Well my teacher either bought it or did not care much for it or any other combination... For the future I learned my lesson of not using processes... And I got no idea what you mean by power rangers.... sorry.... So without further pointless talk I give you my game!!! (Its about 600 lines X_X ) |

Its pretty good, very good when you look at the fact that you're in grade 10, but I have to wonder why its speeding up when I shoot... Are you using processes? If so, you really shouldn't be. Theres plenty of debates around the site if you feel like searchin for em, but eh. Also, whats with the power ranger esque ending?  |

as TOTG stated, it is good considering u are a gr.10  , next step is to look into OOP  that way you can make many different levels all with one chunk of code  , combine that with a decent level generator (for things like speed of the aliens etc) and you would be on your way to fully recreating the classic space invaders game, also, about the aliens speeding up when you shoot... in whatever process you are using to control them, have the delay the same as in your main loop, otherwise they become extremely hard to hit (especially when u get down to 1 or 2  ) otherwise good job! |

I've decided to abandon this game for awhile and not try adding new things. I am currentlly working on a new project which is kind of like a RPG/adventure style game where you are a detective in the 30s or maybe... yea 30s.. and you have to investigate a crime which involves supper natural 5h!7 So for now I just wanted to bring this model pack that maybe some of you could/ want use in any of your games it is not much, it consists of the acctuall space ship 3D model in 3d studio max 6, space ship texture and the texture and model of my original alien ship that i always forgot to send to myself (i was working at school mostlly) |
