I'm supposed to make a program that balances chemical equations.... Anyways, I'm just having some difficulty determining the products in this one: C6H8O6 + NaOH --> (I duno wtf are the products... H2O and what?) Thanksss (btw, C6H8O6 is ascorbic acid if ne1 is wondering) |

Something tells me it would be the following, however I'm not 100% positive. Quote: C6H8O6 + NaOH -> C6H7O6Na + H2O Kinda reminds me of acetic acid reacting with sodium hyrdoxideQuote: CH3COOH + NaOH -> CH3COONa + H20 |

I recall somebody telling me that organic chemistry was a requirement of the grade 11 courses and typically done as an ISU. That's the way we did it in grade 11 as well. |
