... or continue, if you prefer. After all, we can now be sure that IT'S WORKING. What's going on? Probably the best news from E3: Kojima confirms Metal Gear Solid movie! No word yet on whether he's willing to adopt me... I'm sitting here at a loss for words. Here I thought Nintendo was stealing the show at E3, but now all I can think of is the Metal Gear Solid theme. Harry Gregson-Williams ftw! |

Hehe, yeah, MGS is pretty great. I only hope that this movie doesn't come out like the last few game based movies I've heard of. Then again, it's hard to imagine a MSG movie going wrong. ![]() |

Oh, I'm sure it could go wrong... I think the first post in response to that article said Keifer Sutherland should play Snake... ![]() Not to insult the Canadian actor, but he's no Solid Snake. On a slightly different note, does anyone know if they are making a MGS3 Substistence port for the PC? |

I've never paid much attention to the MGS sequels, but Subsistence was supposed to feature online play, wasn't it? I guess a PC port would be cool, but I wouldn't keep my hopes up. The movie could go wrong. Anything can go wrong. I just don't think that it will. Kojima actually said that Uwe Boll will not be making the movie, because he knows just how many people are excited about this and how disappointed everyone would be if MGS were handed to a hack like that. As for the comments, someone even said they should cast Tom Cruise. Nobody wants to see Tom Cruise as Solid Snake, Kojima knows it. Have any of you seen this from several years ago? Don't get too upset over it, it's completely made up. None of them would really fit the role, just thought it was kind of interesting. |

Who would eveyone pick for the role then? Cruise would be a no-fit. Sutherland would be just 'ok'. I think Hugh Jackman would be a good fit. Eric Bana would probably do pretty well too. I'm not a big fan, but Brad Pitt could pull it off. If Jean Reno spoke better english, he'd be my first pick. |

but what worries me that making a movie from a video game wont do so well...remember final fantasy spirits within?. super mario bros.? etc Spirits Within was not based on a game. Who told you it was? You should check what they had to eat that morning...Spirits Within simply held on to the brand of FF, and told a story using similar themes and motifs. Otherwise, it was altogether standalone. Advent Children, on the other hand... And in other news, this could turn out to be quite disturbing, if indeed it is what I think it is... ![]() |

Unless it's a hoax I'm banking on it having nothing to do with Ms. PacMan as we know it. |

A lot of people argue that FF Spirits within died because of the uncanny valley. http://www.answers.com/main/ntquery?gwp=13&s=uncanny%20valley Personally, I think the dialogue was awful, and the plot far too primary. Pretty much every other 'video game to movie' has sucked, maily because they've all been directed by Uwe Boll, who makes his living by purchasing movie rights and turing out absolute crap time after time after time - that gullible gamers go and see anyway. I think Tomb Raider is pretty much the only franchise that has done this successfully. I think the series is crap, but it's done very well at the box office. |
