Looks to be very nice. In Windows I had rainlender for whatever calendar purposes I wanted. I never did get a calendar type program for linux, but if I did, I would have to add things to two calendars to keep everything updated. Google sure is good for centralizing stuff for us dual-booters.

Not only that but google calendar is great for those us who need to manage multiple scheduals and calendars; you can overlay them to see what's what or just look at the one you care about at the moment without worrying about anything else.

Once again google has managed to create a product that works exceptionally well and fills a gap that is in need of filling... is it any wonder they are so sucessful?

I dont know GUI in any other lang sadly, but I used S-Engine Smile so looks pretty good, although I for got where I kept it because I need calendar to remind me what things I should do since I am too lazy, but since I am that lazy, I forgot where my calendar is and again too lazy to look for it. Laughing SHould be here somewhere but heck lets procrastinate. Very Happy

Laziness is used as an excuse far too often these days.

Anyways, what think you guys we set up a CompSci.ca calendar? I don't know how useful it would be, but V3 has a calendar. Wink compsci (and other) contests could be listed, as well as release dates for projects like Dapper Drake.

No! Not the abhorant Turing GUI! Make your own, if want to use GUI. You'll find it so much more fulfilling. Check out Candle Sparks for an example of custome made GUI. Cervantes also had some good stuff a while back...
The benefit is that you have control over what you're making and hence don't have to bulk up your file with unessecary garbage that usually gets packed in to a GUI-using Turing .exe.

Uh, I said "make your own". Rolling Eyes
And Cervantes, what's so secret about your other handle? On a somewhat related note...I just found a hidden message in GMail!

I haven't been able to reproduce it in FireFox...only IE. Why was I using IE you ask? Well - it's all the libraries had.

S-Engine is basically the same as Turing's GUI. Just different graphics, from what I remember.

It offers protection. Plus, it's something Mazer can't claim he can do.
Well, I guess he can. And his is more secret than mine.

Which? My newest? I do hope it's more secret, I rather like it. But it's a bit too common, I need cool prefixes/suffixes for it.

Why do you hate me so? (and why aren't you in any of the channels right now?)

Okay...this is becoming a little too personal here...leave channel talk for the channels boys. Now, back to the point of this topic: Why Candle Sparks is so awsome.

Delos, that's two plugs in one day, on one topic! Claping

Anyways... About calendars. Why don't you people just use a normal, hard-copy, calendar? Argh... Don't worry, I'm not really asking, I know the answer.

Yes. Don't let Cervantes hear you say that. He'll throw another one of his famed hissy fits. Ok, maybe not famed. Or hissy. Or fits. But he'll throw something gosh-darn-it-all...
[sigh] - In 12 hours, I'll be done with Diels Alders reactions for as long as I can possibly stay away from them! Huzzah! No more alpha-beta-unsaturated carbonyl systems for me.
/me starts doing a dance...then realises I'm 12 hours too early.

Changing things with digital calendars is much easier. There's no need to carry a calendar around. For those of us who sign on to the internet at least once a day, it's good.
