well lets take 5 steps back.

1) What PCI adapter are you installing (be specific)
2) Does it come with software drivers
3) Does the manufacturer website have a FAQ that solves your problem
4) Are you sure the PCI slot is working , and not dead
5) Are you really batman.

If you want help, it's best to be forthcoming with your information.

well, i would be more forthcoming with info if i knew more, all i know is that i installed the driver, then the PCI card. then windows told me it detected new hardware, and asks me if i want to install a driver to it. i click yes, and install from the cde again. then when i open the network monitor (installed with the driver), it tells me that my adapter is "Inactive"

go check in device manager to see if the driver is properly installed

the card is wireless so sometimes it says its inactive if you haven't configured it properly. you need to configure it to connect to the wireless access point that you've setup, such as entering the ssid for the network and if you have any security setup for it like wep encryption then you need to enter your code for that as well

Shocked Shocked Shocked Is there some wierd l33t overclocker reason to do that, or is it just one of those "because-I-can" things?

well it's a neat cooling solution, but the main thing is because of noise.. with that set up, you'll have a perfectly quiet system.

Not to mention the wonderful smell of stir-fry electrical components. I love the smell of stir-fry electrical components in the morning.
