i would like to kno where i can find java so i can get it b4 my semester starts and so i can start writing in Java can someone help me

Please remove that link. Compsci.ca could get in a lot of trouble for that being posted.

Anyway, your school may use Ready, but it is a certified waste. Use the Java link turboliux gave you. That's the "real" Java -- the one by Sun Microsystems anyway.

Also, if you want an IDE, Eclipse is excellent, although I wouldn't recommend using an IDE to start.

wtd made a huge why java sucks thread in the Java tutorials section a while ago. Still, you could go a lot worse than Java for introductory programming.
