How is it that you almost never post anymore but the second someone says something relating to arcade games, you're there like 10 minutes later responding to it? |

v1 = phpBB1 v2 = phpBB2 v3 = phpbBB3 --> i'd love to see that Aucatly V2 started as phpbb1 and was then moded to a point that it was not turly any verson of phpbb. Once phpbb2 came out the parts that they chaged that still existed in v2 where aslo chaged. I chaged the verson number of the site so it was combataial with some mods and to mess with some phpbb worms. |

if you ask me, it is kind of well, it is 90% easy to hack your forum. as you know phpbb stopped putting the version number as of 2.0.11 i belive so users dont know what version of phpbb the board is running. and you are running 2.0.11 big secury risk. 2.0.18 had hell lot of fixes for you. |

I believe Hacker Dan adds critical security updates to the forum manually. I doubt the final product is anything like 2.0.11 any longer. I can't remember this forum ever being "hacked" except for a few minor bug exploits now and then. |

If you read my last post, witch you cleary did not, you whould know i just set the verson number at an abtrary number to get some mods to work. In fact in the admin panale it says it is verson phpBB 2.0.5 and in some places it says it is phpbb 1. But if it is 90% easy to hack i whould love to see you try, it aucatly whould help so i could fix any security holes that you find. Also i worte some of my own anti-hacking systems in to this server/site/ect that are not in any offical verson of anything that i know of. Inducing smart back up systems, aoto remaking of admin acounts, and ones that even redirect DoS and bot trafic at the sorce it comes from. P.S. as for this site being hacked in the past, there has been a few cases but most of them where DoS atacks or atacks on our host that effected us indirectly. I can only rember 2 times when the fourm part was hacked and one of thos was by one of our users who helped us fix it and did not break anything, the other was by a script kiddy b4 i added in some of our newsecuity during an update. |

We got hacked pretty badly one time and lost a few days of posts, but other than that there has been nothing major. But yeah, what we're running is a Frankenstein version of PhpBB. |

Why limit yourself to 2.x.y? Why not 3.-13.47! Version numbers are rather pointless anyways. |

I don't think Visual Studio .NET 2005 is one of the stronger hacking tools out there. Hack tools are good for basic information gathering. For anything but the most weakly defended and unpatched sites, you likely have to use something more up-to-the-minute, like skill. |

Hack tools are good for basic information gathering. For anything but the most weakly defended and unpatched sites, you likely have to use something more up-to-the-minute, like skill. I blive that "Hacking tools" server a propses for 2 reasons. 1. to teach about secuity issuse and expoits by looking at the prgomae and the code (if it dose not have sorce it dose not help in this point then) and 2. to test your software, site, forum, ect to see if there are any know expoits that effect you. By "Hacking tools" i mean expoits with an easy click buttion, i do not consdier information gathering tools to be "Hacking tools" as much as just genreal network, ect infomration gathering tools like packet sniffers that show info you all ready real have access to. Of corse there are also tools that let u hack things you own witch i think is fine, since you own the thing u are hacking and just extedning the funcationaliy of it. Hostly i think it is prity sad that some peoleop have to enterin them selves by using other peoleops tools to atack things. You are not showing you are smarter then anyone since it is not your hack nor tool and u are just hurting peoleop. For exmaple, the time we got hacked by a script kiddy who used a tool and we stoped temeraly simpley by chaing the name of admin acount and data base tables and he could not figgure out how to counter that. Also he deleted some posts, like turing help and turing tutorals. I mean that is just hurting every one, and him self since he should have read up on them and aucatly learn how to progame. Why the sceensless descturoin? Lucky we had a back up a few days b4 that so every thing was fine (now we have hourly backups, bidayly, biweekly, and bi monthly ones). |
