Suse Ubuntu/Kubuntu Mandriva Considering those are the three I have (well, I had it when it was still called Mandrake. I also have Red Hat), great! ![]() |

Debian Ubuntu "Who are you" online quizzes... what would we ever do without 'em? Actually, this one was quite nice, if a little limited in choice. And I didn't really like the question about package systems. It's not that I only like deb, it's that I don't like rpm. I would've liked an "anything but rpm and preferrably not compiling on my own" option ![]() |

Dude you need archlinux. Its pacman package management system is the worlds best ![]() Edit: Although it has a fantastic package management system, the system configuration is all text-based. Yea you directly edit the config files. Some people don't like that, but I actually prefer it that way. =/ |

I'll have to try that out later. As nice as learning new things is, Ubuntu works and time spent learning Archlinux could be time spent sleeping. And that comes in handy these days. ![]() Holy hell, I still have the Archlinux ISO on my hard drive from the summer! |

I don't see how these things are calculated. I specifically said that I do not care about which Destkop Environment is preinstalled, yet when I get my results, Kubuntu is first place and Ubuntu is last place -- when they are *completely identical* except for which DE is installed by default. In fact, it takes one whole line to convert from one to the other. Hm. ![]() |

Slack and gentoo, strange... those would be the two distros I'm most likely to use... though I'm thinking I'll stick with gentoo for now (whe I go back to using linux). |
