Python for Lisp Programmers is a great comparison of Python to Lisp, Lisp to Python. and also has a benchmark of how Lisp and Python compare to Java, Perl, and C++.

It truly is a great read(as is everything by Norvig).

Lisp hasn't lost its edge(especially Common Lisp), and it continues to perform like it always has. If you haven't tried Lisp, I'd recommend it.

Along with Python.
