Free Mp3 editors

Anyone know of any good freeware mp3 editors that can change the bitrate of an mp3? 4Musics Mp3 Bitrate Changer is the best one I've found so far however its a trial version and  I have to wait 5 seconds after each song is converted then click continue. With 1 song its ok but with many its very tedious...

Another vote for Audacity, plus it's open source which is a big plus in my book :)

yep. I asked a while ago, and ended up getting audacity.

You need to download another file for the mp3 export to work, but that should take you less than 5 minutes total.
