Chat Program

I was hoping to write an instant message program that I can use to chat with my dad over our home network. First I need to know if this if even possible in Turing and if not what language would it be possible in?

Yes, it is possible.  There have been several such proggies developed and posted on the site.
Look under Turing Applications.

For starters, you'll need to be familiar with how networks work, and as such know how to use the Net. functions.
