What's with the new skin? It looks nice, but it's missign the "show new posts since last visit" link, and it's hard to tell what's what sometimes... On the plus side it looks great (if a little macish...)

No.
I will also implement a script that will not let you access the forums unless your system is detected to be OS X. In two weeks. This way everybody will have a chance to order and recieve their new systems :)

Apple has always had a program where if you order a computer shortly before a new OS ships (and ships on every new Mac), they'll send you a free copy of the new OS. I think the time period is something like 10-20 days.

Cool. I don't think that Tiger has a release date set yet though, so I think it'd still be better to sit tight for a couple of weeks at least.

I've got nothing against Apple, but are we trying to turn ourselves into Mac fanboys?

Great that we've finally got a non blue theme, but c'mon now...

EDIT: Oh yeah, I'm going to need some new sections for Sega Genesis hardware, and Sega Genesis games. But not the 32X, and not the slimmer version either. And it has to be about the Sega Genesis in use with the big old standard 3 button + dpad + start controllers (non of this x y z + turbo crap).

I like the whites and greys, but it is still hard on the eyes. Maybe a little less contrast. Then again, perhaps the problem is that it's getting dark and I haven't turned my lamp on yet.

In any case, the stuff needs to extend to the edges of the page. Perhaps it would look fine on 800x600, but not on anything higher.

Anyways (ah damn, I'm gone for 7 hours and the old theme is back), I liked the colours of the background stuff but I didn't care for the buttons/icons. Especially the ones at the top (far too big).

Actually, it's easier to read text if its width is limited. This is why newspapers work in narrow columns. :)

Reason for it being is that we have mods that require additional files (and editing to the existing files) than what themes have. Such as when I dropped the theme in last night, a lot of things have gotten broken. I had to make some adjustments to make it work, but mod features were still missing.

Point is -- you get a choice of theme, but they get overwriten by our config

Green? Sure, it's a nice colour, but terrible for a theme. Have you ever tried using the Windows XP Olive Green colour scheme? And left it like that? The green at on the taskbar and the title of each window attract far too much attention, making it hard to look at what you actually WANT to look at. Heck, even Windows XP's blue scheme is a bit too much like that. I think the blue XP scheme would be a lot better if the blue were toned down a bit, much like the blue's on this site. :)

Blue is, in general, a horrible user interface color. It's harsh, cold, and uninviting. It just makes you feel uncomfortable to sit in front of a computer with a heavily blue interface.

A little bit of blue as an accent is acceptable, but making it a dominant color in a UI is unacceptable.
