Using a database?

Im pretty new to turing.
Im just fooling around but I want to make a program that can check into a database. For example, i'll have a text file that can be written to when someone registers. I want to know how to do this, aswell as be able to check that database when someone trys to log on.

If its to hard to do, tell me
