Otherwise, both Athlons and Pentiums have advantages. You have to keep in mind that they are competing, so they are trying to bash each other down - and beat aspects of the other chip. The thing is - my P4 is more of a 'gaming' computer, and the Athlon is supposed to be more practical based (but I can always switch that around). I have yet to put an OS on it, so far have been doing everything off a DOS floppy :) , still got a lot of work to do... Problem is, the RAM is supposed to be able to reach 500, but anything past 433 gets errors. If you're into overclocking, you'll want to purchase some liquid or refridgerant cooling. That ram is supposed to go to 500 - that's why I might return it (but for now, I'll focus on other things). The reason why I can't switch the two gpu's is because my 6600GT is PCIE, and my P4 doesn't support that. I downclocked it to 2.4Ghz since it didn't seem to be perfectly stable at 2.53, but I will still experiment. When I installed Windows 64 it said "this is not verified with Windows Logo" or something like that. For the moment I think I'll leave it at 2404Mhz and DDR445 for the RAM - it seems stable enough (23 tests in 8 hours). I'm focusing more on testing it all out, and on installing all the software, etc, etc. Don't have unlimited time right now either...
