Turing Exe + Resource Hacker = Stealth!

-----------------------------------

TURING + RESOURCE HACKER = STEALTH!

WARNING: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY MISUSE OF THIS TUTORIAL. THIS TUTORIAL IS JUST TO INCREASE YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF A SO CALLED PROGRAM CALLED RESOURCE HACKER! USE IT ON YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!!!

Overview: The tutorial will teach you how to remove those ugly holtsoft captions from your executables made by turing. Also you will be able to change the icons of the file!!!!!!!!!!!!

Things needed:
Resource Hacker - link provided in the end.
Icon Changer - link provided in the end
Turing Exe file (self explainable)
Brain (a little) lol?

Ok, lets go!

1. Make a turing exe file of your program

2. Open resource hacker and select the exe file
(image1)
3. Click on the last resource in the left pane and expand it
 (image2)
4. Then, you will see some weird scripts in the right pane.
 (image3)
5. Now you need to edit them, if you need to edit the description or other things, simply change the text in the strings " " else delete all of them like i did, so no description or comments will be there
6. After editing, click the compile script button
(image4)
7. Save the file
8. Open that file with ICON CHANGER
9. Select an icon from the list of icons and then press the set buttons! and you are done!
(image5)
10. Its that easy!

You select an icon from a huge collection, then press the set button :D Or if you want a specific icon, download the icon in a folder then, go to Icon -> Search icons, then select the directory where you stored the icon and it will display all the icons of that directory!!! :)

Thats because there should be 4 folder in the icon group, if they are reduced then you get the error, you will have to create more and should have 1,2,3,4 and they should be linked properly in the group thats in the end ( i think second last, 2 lazy to check out)

Could you be a little more clear? I've used the Icon Editor too, but it renders the .exe unusable. ("Invalid Header info")

What exactly do we do to fix that?

A bit delayed there aren't you?

I get an error after using a resource editor on Turing too. I think Turing has some kind of weird protection for editing their programs with third party tools.

I get various errors with:
1. Resource editors
2. .exe compressors
3. Hex editors

Sorry about the delays, i was busy improving my term 2 marks lol. I am so screwed. Anyways, I think you can only edit what you see without runing the file. That is, you can change the icon, the holtsoft comments, etc. But what you cant change is -> You see when the program has a loop continuing and when you click "X" it says some message and then if you press ok it closes the file displaying the delay it was looping. You cant change that, i think the exe has been packed with some protection. If you want to bypass that too, you need to unpack the exe and then edit the code directly in the exe (assuming that you know "Assembly") Even i dont know the language so i cant edit it.

Also, when you play with the "ICON GROUP" in the resource hacker, make sure that you have the 4 sub-folders in the "ICON GROUP" with appropriate sizes of icons, otherwise turing will crash.

It happens. Just keep trying different programs, and eventually one will work. I forget which finally worked for me and I'm pretty sure I don't have it installed anymore, so I can't be of more help.

I don't think you've got the influence to be able to make a statement like that and expect people to believe you. Support your opinion. Give us some information.

I'm in no way convinced that ResEdit is better than ResHacker. I've never heard of ResEdit. In fact, I still haven't heard of ResEdit.
