Umm...yeah. That's why ~50% of those enduring relationships end in divorce. Ages of experience have taught humanity that the commitment of a husband and wife to love and to serve one another promotes the welfare of children and the stability of society. Hmm...America sure is known for its fidelity. And I mean, all children are born in wedlock as well! Well, at the very least ~50% of them... Marriage cannot be severed from its cultural, religious and natural roots without weakening the good influence of society. Yes, yes indeed! That's why we have the many many legalities of getting a marriage licence and the like. Oh, and never mind that there are quite a few cultures (in America nonetheless!) where homosexual marriages are completely commonplace. By this I mean that they're accpeted...they don't really happen all that often though. And since when was the act of marriage genetic?? Government, by recognizing protecting marriage, serves the interests of all. Except those who're going to get linched for their practices. But they don't count, eh? America's a free society which limits the role of government in the lives of our citiziens. ... It has been proven in the last 100 years or so as EVERY SINGLE COMMUNIST COUNTRY HAS COLLAPSED, ACCEPTED CAPITALISM, OR BEEN OVERUN (caps for exclamation) - excluding Cuba, but who wants to live in Cuba because they are so damn poor and their amazing leader has to put all the civilians through military training to take their minds off their shitty situation. As for the Communist Party, some of the things they want are not possible - mainly minimum wage being 12 dollars/hour. Some companies cannot afford to pay that much, but what do the commies care - we have to be fair to everyone! (excepting the business people). As to the comment concerning the French - it was a joke, uh, yeah :shifty:. As to Paul, thankyou for adding some quote Lenin said. I fully believe that communism can realistically and effectively work, on any scale. And a minimum wage of 12/hour wouldn't be a bad thing. For one, it would make companies treat their employees much better, as they wouldn't want to lose training, and they would need fewer employees to do more work. Also, it would serve to greatly reduce poverty. As for ruling the country, if the communist party came into power, it wouldn't be a good thing, since, due to large public opposition, very little would get done. Wrawng, Wrawng, Wrawng. Communism fails because the people are the failure, to see it otherwise, would mean to be sucking on the tit of Corporate America. You see, people don't like being equal to everyone. Everyone wants to be better than everyone, which is why democracy has been so overwhelming, because it offers the opportunity for everyone to be better than others. Herein, likes the problem. To become better, you must gain from the wealth already existant in the open, therefore: you must get a job, or find some other means of income. So in essence, to make yourself better, you must be screwing over more people to get to where you are. On a small scale, this might seem insignificant, but for a, say, multi billion dollar corporation, you can't ignore the fact that it's a lot of money they're holding up. The whole purpose of communism is to make everyone equal. Everyone works in order to maintain stability among the people. You work, and live, for the sake of living, unlike a democracy, where you live to make money. In communism, there are no castes, everyone has their own large houses, everyone has a car, everyone has their TV, computer, fast internet, good cloathes, and therefore, materialism becomes irrelevant, you don't need anything else. You consequently change the goal of life, from making money, to more important matters. Like, the search for knowledge, wisdom, or to write, ect. I completely agree with the statement that money is the root of all evil, both literally and metaphorically. Get rid of money, and you get rid of the problem. Most of the problems in society arise from poverty and greed; remove the two, and all the derrived problems that spawn from the previously mentioned, are gone. People destroy communism, why? They can't stand to be equal to anyone, everyone has to be better than everyone else. Think closely to the entire purpose of your life on this planet, thus far. You are born, to get a job, and make as much money as you can before you die. See what I mean?
