Developing Debug Class

-----------------------------------

For anyone interested - lets put together a turing debug class to be used in projects to assist during development process.

some functionality it might have :

-error log (log Error. and user defined conditions to external file)
-console output (display whats going on in ether a child or 2nd window... depending on issues with sizing/window flipping)
-set on/off
-set level of detail (from exclusivly fatal errors down to approximate line of code / block of code)

It might also include some other build in functionalities for fool-proofing the program such as input varification, function varification (/0, ln(-n), overflows), etc.

Actually sounds like a nice community project... if anyone wants to give [url=http://www.compsci.ca/mx/index.php?page=11]dTeam another try

Intresting idea, whould be worth expolering since 4.x seems to have left out some of the good debuging tools.

we got whole lota programmers here, why dont we make a game using all of our skills, in this way every one can also learn better and share thier ideas..

A large collaborative program of that nature requires a knowledge of structured programming most of the people here are lacking, from what I can tell.

wtd is right, we tried it once, it was called the dTeam. Have you heard of it? Exactly.

Yes. Teams of people who don't know each other and try to make a game together almost never succeed.
EDIT: But for something like this debug class, maybe this wouldn't be a problem.

P.S. to people: don't give up on it.

For what it's worth, if this project actually gets rolling, I'll give it all I've got =) I'm looking for a way to keep in touch with Turing anyhow. Let's muster some enthusiasm for this, guys! =D

what!?

-----------------------------------

this is all talk and no action, im not so interested, i usually do a pretty good job to not have to debug much, but this would be a nice addition, but still: all "it would be great" and "its so cool" (ie talk) and no action

Yep. And it's been that way for the 11 months since this was posted.
To that end, I'm de-stickying this.
