Ya! They got some amazing slopes for skiing/snowboarding. I used to live out west, in Edmonton. Not quite vancouver, but still close enough to ski in the rockies, at Banff, Whistler, Lake Louise, etc.

But ya, it is a bit out there.

i'd like to go there and eat some free food, but that would really be the main selling point. and since i can't eat for 6 hours straight, i'd hafta talk about programming or play a LAN game

hehe, if you're willing to buy anyone who comes a ticket to the CNE then that's a better deal

i might be making this up, but I think CNE has group discounts if its over 25 of us. Which I think we could put together :D

wtd - Victoria is geographically further away from Toronto than Vancouver

Maybe we can find a few TVs and xboxes and play some halo? 8)

you know what? I'm really excited about such an idea. Though perhaps it would work out best if we can get a booth at some more publicized computer show? Lets hear some ideas

You don't have to have a gaming system since we're thinking of hooking up some xboxes for gaming events.

But if your system is not to heavy to carry, I'm suggesting you bring it  There's an idea to have computers set up to show off compsci projects and such.

The idea in rough is to promote compsci, showcase some nice projects, get sponsours and attention of local highschools.

You must drive slow, it only takes 1 hour to drive to London, and would this be a multi-day event, second day could be PCW (Paramount Canada's Wonderland, heh...) :D :D

Also, I don't think I would bring my computer, it is not too heavy but way to slow... A Celeron 667 OCed to 833 with 256 MB PC133 SDRAM and a ATI Rage 128 Pro video card (yes, I know    ), I can can't even play Halo on PC because of my graphic card...

well if you can fit 70+ people in your house then sure , or if you have room for near 50 Computers , and can cater to that many people also having a big enough wall to prject onto so 70+ people can watch , ohh and have enough money to pay your next power bill ( no joke it would be around 600 $ ) actually your power wouldnt do the job , we would blow fuses andd short out boxes ,

So if that answers your question , this thing is in hte range of 2000$ dollars now ,for hte 1 day event , thats not expesive when in perspective,

Well I doubt that 70+, or even along the lines of 20 of our members will be going, since most of them are underage and hafta ask their parents for a ride. I forgot whether this convention was gonna be held for strangers to join as well, sort of as a promotional event. If it is, then I definitely recommend not having too many young folks around if we want to give off a good impression.

Most of the people who would come would be folks who post in GD and SPAM. And I know for sure 70 people don't post in here. Most of them are lurkers who hang around Turing Help to get their question answered.
