----------------------------------- rizzix Sun Jun 27, 2004 12:03 am 3D Engine (rizzix) ----------------------------------- pre-alpha version. but i dont think i'm going to carry on development of this project. its good for rendering 3d objects. but.. lacks movement etc.. ah and heh boy those 2 are going to kill me if i say this: its by far the most accurate rendering engine i've seen on compsci so far  (oh and y turing? dont ask.. long story) PS: built on a completly different (new) code-base PPS: included the other engines as well  if a .raw file is corrupt.. dl them from here: [url=http://nicron.no-ip.com/smurf.raw]smurf [url=http://nicron.no-ip.com/spacestation2.raw]spacestation2 [url=http://nicron.no-ip.com/spacestation.raw]spacestation [url=http://nicron.no-ip.com/woman.raw]woman [url=http://nicron.no-ip.com/bridget.raw]bridget [url=http://nicron.no-ip.com/sphere.raw]sphere [url=http://nicron.no-ip.com/balloon.raw]balloon PPPS: oh and its recomended to have 2ghz of processing power at the least  ----------------------------------- Tony Sun Jun 27, 2004 12:26 am ----------------------------------- impressive... though... you seem to have some glitch in rendering the sphere :? few faces are rendered before they should and get covered  ----------------------------------- rizzix Sun Jun 27, 2004 2:06 am ----------------------------------- yep.. aware of that heh. i didn't add the algorithm to do the sorting. ----------------------------------- Delos Sun Jun 27, 2004 11:09 am ----------------------------------- Now, did you include those other engines so that we may consider all 3 in entirely objective stances? Or just for gloatware? Eitherway, it's still pretty darn cool...and it ran well on my 900 MHz Athalon...though it did take about 20 seconds for the smuft to begin loading... Far too much complexity in those files to bother looking at...I probably wouldn't understand anyhow...I'll just stick to manageable 2D... So, tell us the story, of 'why Turing'. I'm sure we're all anxious to hear... ----------------------------------- rizzix Sun Jun 27, 2004 12:40 pm ----------------------------------- objective stance or gloatware.. heh ur choice. (actually i didn't even know i had added them in unitl i dl'd the file my self and extracted it) ----------------------------------- Catalyst Sun Jun 27, 2004 1:26 pm ----------------------------------- what exactly do u mean by accurate? oh and if ur gonna include my engine at least use the newer version ----------------------------------- zylum Sun Jun 27, 2004 1:36 pm ----------------------------------- when i try to extract the files i get like 66 errors because all the files are corrupt... ----------------------------------- rizzix Sun Jun 27, 2004 2:17 pm ----------------------------------- yep.. no idea y.. but its usually just the .raw files.. dl them from the links above ----------------------------------- zylum Sun Jun 27, 2004 3:05 pm ----------------------------------- its not just the raw files... when i decompress all i get is empty folders... n souce files or anything ----------------------------------- rizzix Sun Jun 27, 2004 8:50 pm ----------------------------------- what exactly do u mean by accurate? oh and if ur gonna include my engine at least use the newer version by accurate i meant perspective correct interpolation. but the newer version appears to be quite accurate heh. yet i can't really tell.. how do i zoom? EDIT: figured it out nvm futher y is it i can;t zoom in much.. after a point it the object appears smaller ----------------------------------- rizzix Sun Jun 27, 2004 8:52 pm ----------------------------------- its not just the raw files... when i decompress all i get is empty folders... n souce files or anything that is strange.. cuz i just did tried extracting it my self.. works prefectly. ----------------------------------- Catalyst Sun Jun 27, 2004 9:43 pm ----------------------------------- oh thats the object passing through the camera i never really finished this engine because i started a new one which was more advanced (which i also never finished ) ----------------------------------- Delos Mon Jun 28, 2004 11:13 am ----------------------------------- Catalyst...I'm curious, what is your avatar all about? ----------------------------------- rizzix Mon Jun 28, 2004 11:14 am ----------------------------------- he's a very curious guy. ----------------------------------- Catalyst Mon Jun 28, 2004 2:22 pm ----------------------------------- its a fractal (from the julia set most of the time) http://mathworld.wolfram.com/JuliaSet.html ----------------------------------- Delos Mon Jun 28, 2004 7:45 pm ----------------------------------- Curious me...hehehe. I figured it was a Julia thingy...but is there any significance to the fact that it changes with each refresh of a page? Or is that just a cool effect? ----------------------------------- Catalyst Mon Jun 28, 2004 8:06 pm ----------------------------------- theres a php script running off my server randomly generating a fractal each time it is accessed http://www.compsci.ca/v2/viewtopic.php?t=5593 ----------------------------------- Delos Mon Jun 28, 2004 8:21 pm ----------------------------------- Once again...I'm aware of that too. When I said significance...I was speaking aesthetically... ----------------------------------- Catalyst Tue Jun 29, 2004 10:39 am ----------------------------------- not really, but i did limit the initial values to around -.79,.16 because that when it looks the coolest :D
