There were several sets, and if one had more than one set, one would be able to join the cubes together to create more complex shapes, like a block, or a...umm...cube-with-cubes-the-same-size-as-it-protruding-from-each-face. Each face/piece had a different face - some were angry (like avatar), some smiling, some :P ing, etc etc...sorta like a bunch of emoticons...just on foam. I had one when I was younger.
