the upload thing doesn't work

for some reason, the upload thing for the general discussion doesn't work 
i'm trying to attatch a file, and it says this Upload Error: Could not upload Attachment to ./files/Ad-aware.zip.

You can only upload to certain forums. General Discussion does not allow uploads.
