How to run multiple windows?

why can't I run multiple turing windows, on my home computer? It works perfectly at school...does it have anything to do with the version?

Go to properties and turn on advanced multi-window mode.

I think there is an option in the Turing preferences called "Beginner mode" which only allows one file to be open at a time.
