With the exception of TF2, I love all of their games. Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn (2000) and Throne of Bhaal (2001) Max Payne I (2001) and II (2003) Dawn of War series (2004+) Unreal Tournament 2004 Homeworld 2 (2003) -- I might say Homeworld 1 instead, but that was 1999. Call of Duty 1 (2003), 2 (2005) and 4 (2007). None of the others deserve "best game" status. Thief 2 (2000) and 3 (2004) Battlefield 1942 (2002) Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (2003) Counter-Strike: Source (2004) Worms World Party (2001) or Worms: Reloaded (2010) BioShock (2007) DotA (WC3 edition): Although technically just a map, I would call this one pretty significant. Although not the first game of the type, its popularity basically built the genre. Honourable Mention: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 (2003): This game wasn't particularly good, but it's the only game that's almost killed me through laughter. Story: my squad is assaulting some industrial yard. We've gotten up on a metal mesh catwalk, and have come to a door at the end. I tell my squad to wait, and crack the door open. I see a guard patrolling, so I order one of my squad-mates to throw a grenade through the door. Squadmate #2 steps up to the door and throws this grenade--with all of his might--directly into the door. Going through these games made me realize how many great games were created around 1998-1999. Also, I was pretty shocked to realize that Civilization IV is already over 7 years old!
