Just started my program

Hi everyone,

I just started a B.SC Computing and Information Systems program. I would like to do some open source projects, to gain valuable experience. Does somebody know a place to start. I am curious, I mean everybody has to start somewhere, maybe a starter position or something else which would help them later on. I really appreciate anything helpful in this manner.
