Is newbie spelled wrong?

I just realize that under my name on the left, it says that I'm a newbe, was it trying to spell newb/noob, etc., or was it a spelling mistake for Newbie?

"Newbie" refers to those who are new to something.
"Noob" refers to people who aren't new, but still suck.
