Considering that U.S. does not recognize the International Criminal Court[1] (place where trials for war crimes typically take place), it's doubtful that they'll decide to give Canada more authority than that.

Yes but technically if he comes to Canada, Canada then gains authority to arrest him, does it not? I mean it will be pretty bad for Canada to make such a bold move, unless it gets the full backing of the UN.
