Cfm?

So I got both offer for CFM and CS co-op yesterday, and I still couldn't make up my mind..
On paper, it appears that CFM is just CS co-op [url=http://ugradcalendar.uwaterloo.ca/page/MATH-Bachelor-of-Computer-Science]without some upper years CS courses , while all the electives being[url=http://cfm.uwaterloo.ca/about/degree_requirements.html] accounting, finance, and economic courses.

My question is that wouldn't employer interests in people who is specializing in CS or finance, rather than a guy who is in the middle? or it is actually an advantage? Since CFM is relatively new program, can anyone at UW share their/friend's experience with this program? Any inputs will be appreciated :)

Empolyers are generally much more interested in your practical and work experience (hence co-op) than what degree you have. The programs offered (for the most part) cater to students' interests, not demand for jobs.

Between a CFM grad with no demonstrable skills or experience and let's say, a psych major with a tech blog, open source participation and relevant work experience, that CFM degree isn't going to help you much.

That said, if you're applying for a job at a financial institution, all other things being equal, they'll probably choose CFM over CS, again for the reason of applicable experience.
